5 Reasons You Need a Photographer at Your Next Event by Adam Biesenthal

Attention Toronto Event Planners!

Although corporate events tend to be less emotional than let’s say a wedding, the planning that goes into them is far more strategic and the importance of hosting them varies from employee engagement, client retention, revenue generation or even community involvement.

Let’s take a moment and think about it...

You hire a skilled audio visual team to ensure the content specifically curated for the attendees runs smoothly. A professional speaker or even a celebrity is contacted to creatively and effectively deliver your company's message to employees or clients. The atmosphere for the evening gala is perfectly created by commissioning the best decor company to transform the space into something Instagram worthy.

So why is it okay to say, “we will just have someone take pictures with their phone?

Here are 5 reasons you need a photographer at your next event:

YOU ARE A PRO: As an event professional in Toronto, you know the importance of hiring other professionals and experts to get the job done right. With a professional photographer, you are not just getting someone with a more expensive camera than your in-house volunteer, you are hiring someone who knows how to make you, the hosting executives, that guest speaker or that fabulous decor look amazing.

STOCK IMAGES ARE STALE:  We have all seen the same stock photo used to sell everything from hotel rooms to self help books. Wouldn’t you agree that it is better to personalize your company collateral or online articles and include real images from employee and client engagements?

SAY CHEESE: Having a professional photographer on site for a employee conference or experiential experience for clients allows for all those photos (including those great candid snaps of the attendees) to be properly edited quickly and available for a slideshow that runs during closing remarks or made into a digital photo gallery sent to client post event.

EXPERIENCE & EQUIPMENT: A professional will bring with them multiple lenses to capture that perfect shot from all angles and in all kinds of light. Alternatively, your in house volunteer may unknowingly make themselves the centre of attention at the front of the room trying to get that required picture of the CEO making a big announcement.

KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING: What better way to keep employees engaged and drive home a company message after a town hall or annual general meeting than having dynamic images to share on the company intranet or website. Or perhaps the conversation continues by having clients ‘Like’ and ‘Retweet’ highlights they see online from that amazing product launch they were invited to.

Whether you are planning a conference or gala dinner the team at Adam Biesenthal Photography would be honored to partner with you on your next Toronto event.

Joanne & Wayne - Maternity Session by Adam Biesenthal

In late June, I was honored when my friends Joanne and Wayne asked me to be their photographer and together we captured their beautiful maternity images.

Year of the Monkey!

It was such an incredibly hot day that we had to reschedule last minute to later in the day in order to prevent any heat concerns for the mother-to-be (and father-to-be!). Even at nearly 7 pm it was nearly 30 degrees Celsius out!

We met at the couples house, and proceeded to a nearby park to begin our session.  Despite the heat, it was a magical evening.  The sun was positively glowing in its golden hour and created an amazing light for us to work with. I loved the little monkey prop that we brought, to signify that their baby will be born during the year of the monkey.  I cannot wait to meet their little one for our newborn session once she arrives!
